Abstract

Parallel abstract (English)
Spelt (Triticum spelta L.) belongs to the family of grasses (Poaceae), the genus Triticum, and is one of the oldest types of grains. The products of harvest are grains tightly closed in the spikelets, so additional peeling needs to be implemented. What makes it an excellent choice for organic agriculture is that it better tolerates worse conditions than modern wheat. On the family farm "Klica" in Ernestinovo spelt is grown in organic production on 40 hectares. The result is the average yield of 2.625 t ha-1. The whole grain yield has received environmental certification and is sold to foreign buyers for a total of 256 830.84 HRK, which, along with farming incentives brought a profit of 10 385.11 HRK ha-1.
