Abstract
Svinjogojstvo je grana stočarstva koja ima cilj proizvodnje i snabdijevanja tržišta svinjskim mesom i različitim svinjskim prerađevinama. Svinjogojstvo u Republici Hrvatsko jima dugu tradiciju, na koje utječu povoljni prirodni uvjeti za proizvodnju hrane odnsono posebnih krmiva, kukuruza, kao i prehrambenih navika stanovništva. Svinjogojstvo je najvažniji i najbitniji proizvođač mesa u Republici Hrvatskoj, budući da se u Hrvatskoj prema podacima troši oko 25 kilograma svinjskog mesa i proizvoda od svinjskog mesa po stanovniku, što je puno više od drugih vrsta mesa.Svinjogojstvo u našoj zemlji zauzima značajno mjesto u stočarskoj te ukupnoj poljoprivrednoj proizvodnji. Svinjogojska grana najviše je rasprostranjena u istočnoj Hrvatskoj, ali uvažavajući da raspolažemo značajnim resursima za daleko veći obujam proizvodnje, cilj ovoga rada je da utvrdim kakve su mogućnosti proizvodnje svinjskog mesa u Republici Hrvatskoj.

Pig is a branch of livestock which aims to generation and supply markets pork and a variety of pork products. Pig production in the Republic of Croatian them long tradition, influenced by favorable natural conditions for food production person respectively special forage, corn, and eating habits of the population. Pig production is the most important and the most important producer of meat in the Republic of Croatia, since in Croatia according consumes about 25 kilograms of pork and pork products per capita, which is considerably higher than other types of meat. Pig production in our country occupies an important place in the livestock and total agricultural production. Pig branch is the most widespread in eastern Croatia, but taking into account that we have significant resources to a far greater volume of production, the aim of this study was to determine the possibilities of pork production in the Republic of Croatia.
