Abstract
In vitro uzgoj biljnih tkiva i organa odvija se na hranjivoj podlozi koja sadrži neophodne elemente za rast i razvoj same biljke. Hranjive podloge u kulturi tkiva ne osiguravaju samo anorganske hranjive tvari, nego obično i ugljikohidrate kako bi zamijenila ugljik koji biljke obično fiksiraju iz atmosfere fotosintezom. Kako bi se poboljšao rast, mnoge hranjive podloge sadrže u tragovima određene organske spojeve, značajne vitamine te biljne regulatore rasta. Svaka hranjiva podloga mora biti vrlo sterilna. Sterilizacija hranjive podloge se može vršiti na više načina: fizičkim uništavanjem mikroorganizama suhim vrućim zrakom, vrelom parom (autoklav) ili zračenjem (UV svjetlom ili g - zračenjem), kemijskim uništavanjem mikroorganizama pomoću različitih preparata. U Hrvatskoj, ali i svijetu raste velik broj endemičnih, ugroženih i rijetkih biljnih vrsta koje svakako vrijedi sačuvati. U tome bi mogli pomoći ovakvi načini zaštite.

In vitro cultivation of plant tissues and organs takes place on a nutrient medium containing the necessary elements for the growth and development of plants. Nutrient substrates in tissue culture do not only provide inorganic nutrients, but are usually carbohydrates to replace carbon which plants usually take place in a photosynthesis atmosphere. To enhance growth, many nutrients contain traces of certain organic compounds, important vitamins and plant growth regulators. Each nutrient must be very sterile. Sterilization of nutrient media can be done in several ways: physical destruction of microorganisms by dry hot air, autoclaves or radiation (by UV light or g - radiation), chemical destruction of microorganisms by various preparations. In Croatia, but also around the world, a large number of endemic, endangered and rare plant species are growing which is worth preserving. It could help this kind of protection.
