Abstract
Cilj rada bio je utvrditi alelopatski utjecaj vodenih ekstrakata pripremljenih od suhe biomase korovne vrste poljski slak (Convolvulus arvensis L.) na klijavost i početni rast kukuruza. U laboratoriju u petrijevim zdjelicama ispitivan je utjecaj ekstrakata stabljike i lista u različitim koncentracijama (0, 1, 5, 10 %) na dva hibrida kukuruza (Bc 574 i OSSK 596). Klijavost kukuruza bila je u prosjeku smanjenja za 36 %, duljina korijena za 43,8 %, svježa masa klijanaca za 36,6 %, dok je duljina izdanka u nekoliko tretmana bila stimulirana. S povećanjem koncentracije vodenih ekstrakata proporcionalno se smanjila klijavost i parametri rasta klijanaca, pa je 10%-tna koncentracija imala najveći inhibitorni učinak. Najniža koncentracija (1%) ekstrakta lista značajno je stimulirala duljinu izdanka kukuruza. Ekstrakti stabljike pokazali su jači inhibitorni učinak na klijavost i duljinu izdanka od ekstrakata lista. Klijavost hibrida OSSK 596 u većoj mjeri bila je inhibirana od klijavosti hibrida Bc 574, dok su suprotno vodeni ekstrakti djelovali inhibitornije na duljinu klijanaca i svježu masu hibrida Bc 574.

The aim of the study was to determine allelopathic effect of water extracts from dried biomass of weed species field bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis L.) on germination and early growth of maize. The influence of extracts from stem and leaf in different concentrations (0, 1, 5 and 10%) on two maize hybrids (OSSK 596 and Bc 574) was examined in laboratory using Petri dishes. Germination of maize was reduced on average by 36%, root length by 43.8%, fresh weight of seedlings by 36.6%, while extracts, in a few treatments, stimulated shoot length. With the increase of water extract concentration germination and seedling growth parameters decreased, and 10% concentration had the highest inhibitory effect. The lowest concentration (1%) of leaf extract significantly stimulated shoot length of maize. Stem extracts showed higher inhibitory effect on germination and root length from leaf extracts. Germination of OSSK 596 hybrid was inhibited to the greater extent from Bc 574 hybrid. Contrary, water extracts showed more inhibitory effect on seedling length and fresh weight of Bc 574 hybrid.
