Abstract
Poljoprivredna zemljišta koja nemaju dovoljnu količinu vode za uzgoj poljoprivrednih kultura, moraju se opskrbiti vodom na umjetan način tj. navodnjavati, stoga navodnjavanje se smatra jednom od najvažnijih agrotehničkih mjera. Voda je ključan čimbenik u navodnjavanju i vrlo je važno poznavati njenu kvalitetu. Kvalitetu vode definiraju kemijske, fizikalne i biološke značajke. Načini navodnjavanja koji su se razvili tijekom godina su: površinsko, podzemno i lokalizirano. Za navodnjavanje vrtova i okućnica najučinokvitije je navodnjavanje sustavom „kap po kap“ zbog njegove uštede u financijskom smislu. Osim navedenog navodnjavanja postoji i navodnjavanje mini rasprskivačima i mikronavodnjavanje. Egzistencija poljoprivredne proizvodnje se oslanja na padaline, kao jedinu mogućnost navodnjavanja poljoprivrednih površina u toku sušnih perioda. Pri odabiru biljaka koje će se uzgajati, osim prikladnosti tla, potrebno je uzeti u obzir karakteristike pojedinih vrsta, te osobnu naklonost prema određenim vrstama. Treba uzeti u obzir i osunčanost lokacije koja je ključan čimbenik u razvoju biljke.

Agricultural land that do not have enough water to grow crops, must furnish water artificially ie. irrigate. Therefore, irrigation is considered one of the most important agro-technical measures. Water is a key factror in irrigation and it is very important to know quality of it by defining its chemical, physical and biological characteristics. Irrigation methods that have been developed over the years are: surface, underground and localized. For irrigation of gardens and crofts most efficient is irrigation system "drop by drop" due to its savings in financial terms. In addition, there is irrigation and watering mini sprinklers and drip irrigation. The existence of agricultural production relies on rainfall, as the only possibility for irrigation of agricultural land during dry periods. When selecting plants that will be grown, except the suitability of the soil, it is necessary to take into account the characteristics of individual species, and personal support to certain types. It should be taken in consideration sunlight location that is a key factor in the development of plants.
