Abstract
Rijeka Vuka ima duljinu 112 km, a površina njenog sliva je 1035 km2. Najvećim dijelom teče kroz izrazitu nizinu gdje se izlijevala i uzrokovala poplave. U prvoj polovini 19. stoljeća iskopani su Bobotski i Poganovačko-kravički kanali koji su dijelom smanjili opasnost od poplava. 1876. godine formirano je Društvo za regulaciju rijeke Vuke čija je zadaća bila uređivanje toka Vuke i kanalske mreže. Više inženjera bilo je zaduženo za izradu projekata regulacije Vuke i isušenja močvara. Najopširniji projekt je napravio Spannbauer koji se nije u cijelosti proveo, zatim su na njegovim osnovama izrađivali projekte inženjeri Knobloch i Kreutzer. Do poslije 1. svjetskog rata isušilo se najveće poplavno područje te je dobiveno oko 23000 ha oranica. Poslije 2. svjetskog rata izgrađena je detaljna kanalska mreža i uređeno je korito rijeke Vuke. 1978. izgrađena je akumulacija Borovik na početku toka rijeke kako bi se spriječilo nastajanje bujičnih voda koje ugrožavaju naselja u nizini. Dvije godine poslije izgrađena je crpna stanica Dvor kod Paulin Dvora kojom se crpi voda iz Bobotskog kanala u Vuku. Najnoviji projekt je izgradnja akumulacije Koritnjak na istoimenom potoku koji će osim zadržavanja viška vode u budućnosti imati i ulogu navodnjavanja.

The length of the Vuka river is 112 km while the river basin area is 1035 km2. The river mainly flows in lowland area causing the floods. In the first half of 19. century Bobota and Poganovacko-kravicki canals were built which reduced the flood. In the year 1876 the Society for regulation of Vuka river has been established with its main cause to control the river flow and the canals. The engineer Spannbauer gave the most detailed melioration project later used as the ground for Knobloch and Kreutzer projects. After the end of 1st World War the main part of flooded area was dried out which gave 23000 ha of arable lands. Detailed ameliorative canals were built after the 2nd World War. Borovik accumulation lake was built at the beginning of the river flow in year 1978 and two years after the pump station near the Paulin Dvor. The water was pumped from Bobota canal into Vuka river. The latest project is dual purpose Koritnjak accumulation.
